In this performance-based work, a static camera is focused on a woman in a kitchen. On a counter before her are a variety of utensils, each of which she picks up, names and proceeds to demonstrate, but with gestures that depart from the normal uses of the tool. In an ironic grammatology of sound and gesture, the woman and her implements enter and transgress the familiar system of everyday kitchen meanings — the securely understood signs of domestic industry and food production erupt into anger and violence. In this alphabet of kitchen implements, states Rosler, "when the woman speaks, she names her own oppression."

这是一个黑白色的梦魇，一部实验色彩极高的抽象影片。两个人，两具影子。一幅黑白，一个故事。两个似人形又似鬼影的黑白剪影人物，在空荡的背景下不断伸缩变形，扭曲变化出怪异的图形模样。他们在十几分钟的沉默中，相互撕扯争斗，没有输赢。 　　如果谁还能把抽象几何图形把玩到极致，那么当属德国导演奥斯卡·费钦格。这部制作于1927年的黑白抽象动画短片，在当时带给众人耳目一新的新鲜体验。为了将这种动态的抽象几何图形达到可视化的戏剧效果，奥斯卡自制了一部切蜡机，并发明了“蜡片机”技术。
